About Me
Marriage & Family Therapist Associate, CGAC-R
I became a therapist as a second career, later in life. I see therapy as an opportunity to explore who we are and who we want to become—to understand our emotional lives, improve our relationships, and make choices that reflect our most deeply-held values.
My style is direct, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I work at your pace while taking an active role in our sessions: asking questions, sharing observations, and helping us stay focused on what matters to you.
I earned my master’s degree from Lewis & Clark College and am a Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor Registrant.
I am supervised by Lori Henry, LMFT.
My Approach
For individual clients, we’ll explore how you feel, what you need, and what makes those things difficult to acknowledge or express. We can examine how you came to see the things you struggle with as evidence of who you are. The aim is to make room for an honest account of your life that includes your struggles without letting them define you, and to learn new skills that help you manage the demands of daily life.
I help couples, and families understand the experiences behind recurring conflict and share what those experiences have cost them. We can work on hearing someone’s hurt without immediately defending ourselves, expressing a need without withdrawing it at the first sign of a reaction, and making achievable commitments to one another.
My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology. I use techniques from a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT).
